Here’s the lineup as it currently stands:ġ) Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela (Sour Pumpkin Ale, 5.9%)Ģ) Anchorage Galaxy (White IPA w/ Brett, 7%)ģ) Moa St. The logistics of squeezing 10-14 people into our small-ish living room are tricky to say the least, but rest assured the cozy environs will be mitigated by some pretty tasty brews and (hopefully) some equally delicious food. So things are moving forward nicely here in Raleigh, and as such the roommate and I have decided to hold a little game night/beer tasting/dinner at our modestly-sized apartment. For now, here are some of my current favorites that some of you may be able to get in your neck of the woods.ġ) Sweet Josie Brown Ale - Lonerider (Raleigh)Ģ) Weeping Willow Wit - Mother Earth Brewery (Kinston)ģ) Big Operator Rasberry Stout - Big Boss Brewing Company (Raleigh)Ĥ) Jalepeno Pale Ale - Birdsong Brewing (Charlotte)ĥ)The Countess Raspberry Ale - Big Boss Brewing Company (Raleigh)

I doubt anyone will, but I offer nonetheless. I’m thinking about getting a case this year, if there are any local folks who want to go halfsies (or thirdsies) one one, send me a message. I’ve recently noticed that many of these beers change significantly in as little as 3-6 months, and also that my kitchen pantry is an ill-conceived location for beer storage, as it makes food storage quite difficult.įor example, my beloved Stone Russian Imperial is, in my opinion, a much more pleasurable beer to sip after it’s spent a couple seasons squirreled away somewhere. I had so many friends and fellow beer geeks telling me not to wait, to enjoy my plentiful stash of tastiness, and to stop worrying about whether some bottles should lay dormant for two years or three. With that in mind, I recently decided that there is no good reason I should continue sitting on some of the stouts and barleywines I’ve accumulated over the years. With that will (hopefully) come more updates and quick reviews of some of the fine, fine brews I have in tucked away in the closet. I know I’ve been remiss about keeping up the blog, but I promise that as life settles down and spring gets here, there will be lots more traveling and drinking of fine local brews. Hey look! I’m brewing a beer! Yes it’s true that I have, in fact, been brewing down here in the Triangle.
